Reforestation Project & Free Trees

Seedlings for distribution in reforestation and free tree program.
GRA – Tz is distributing tree seedlings in Kinesi and the surrounding communities in an effort to re-forest parts of the Mara Region. These tree seedlings are grown and nurtured at the Kinesi Village Permaculture Training Center by individuals enrolled in the Kinesi Orphans Program.

Generous support from our international partners enables us to offer these trees free of charge in Rorya District to individuals, schools, NGOs, churches, government agencies and families enrolled in the Kinesi Orphans Program. Tens of thousands have already been planted.

Free Tree Eligibility

Families and representatives of community organizations such as schools, NGOs or churches are eligible to receive as many tree seedlings as they can plant and care for. The individuals responsible for the care of the seedlings are required to attend a tree planting training before receiving their trees at the Kinesi Village Permaculture Training Center. GRA – Tz staff will make a site visit once the seedlings have been planted to ensure they are being properly protected and cared for.

Tree Varieties

We offer a large variety of useful trees. Trees like papaya and Moringa oleifera are super foods packed with vitamins, minerals, protein and nutrients that can combat malnourishment in children, pregnant women and those living with HIV/AIDS. Neem (Azadiratcha indica) can be used to treat many diseases including malaria, especially when combined with Artemisia annua.

  • Neem (Azadirachta Indica)
  • Moringa oleifera

  • Lemon (Citrus limon)
  • Orange (Citrus sinensis)
