Reforestation Project & Free Trees

GRA – Tz is distributing tree seedlings in  the surrounding communities in an effort to re-forest parts of the Mara Region. These tree seedlings are grown and nurtured at the Butiama Agroforestry Training Center by GRA-TZ staff.

Generous support from our international partners enables us to offer these trees free of charge in to individuals, schools, NGOs, churches, government agencies and families enrolled in the Orphans Program. Millions of trees have already been planted across the Mara Region.

Free Tree Eligibility

Families and representatives of community organizations such as schools, NGOs or churches are eligible to receive as many tree seedlings as they can plant and care for. The individuals responsible for the care of the seedlings are required to attend a tree planting training before receiving their trees at the Butiama Agroforestry Training Center. GRA – Tz staff will make a site visit once the seedlings have been planted to ensure they are being properly protected and cared for.
